Safety Belt Law:
Alaska law requires everyone in a motor
vehicle to use a safety belt. Drivers must wear
a safety belt. The driver is also responsible
for all passengers under the age of 16 years.
The law requires federally approved child
restraint devices for passengers under four
years old. Passengers aged from 4 up to 16 must
wear a seat belt or a child restraint device;
whichever is age appropriate.

Sanctions for Speeding in a Construction Zone:

Sanctions for Speeding in a School Zone : Six
points are assessed on the driving record.
Safety Driving Tips:
- Be sure headlights are in working order and
lenses clean. Keep windshield clean.
- Don't look at the "hot spot" in the headlight
pattern of approaching cars.
- Wear sunglasses in bright sunlight to
protect night seeing ability. Do not wear
sunglasses at night
- Tinted windshields affect night vision.
- Remember that even moderate drinking may
reduce one's vision
as well as reaction time.
- Both prescription medicines and
nonprescription medicines may
affect driving, read labels carefully.
- Carry a flashlight and flares.
