Minimum Speed on Limited Access Divided Highway:


Limited access roads are multiple-laned, with restricted access using exit and entrance ramps rather than intersections.
Interstate highways are national limited access roads which connect metropolitan and industrial areas.


Seat Belt Law:


The driver and front seat passenger must wear seat belts, and children under four years must be provided with and restrained by a suitable car seat.


Interstate Highways


10 - Runs parallel with the coast of the Gulf of Mexico between Louisiana and Alabama.
20 - Runs east-west from the border with Louisiana via Jackson to meet Interstate 59 at Meridian.
55 - Runs north-south, from the border with Tennessee just south of Memphis, via Jackson to the border with Louisiana at a point just south of McComb.
59 - Runs diagonally across the southern corner of Mississippi, from the border with Alabama east of Meridian via Hattiesburg and on to cross into Louisiana at Picayune.

Driving Permits


In the U.S.A you are not required to carry an International Driving Permit (IDP) if you hold a valid driving license, often you are required to have held your license for a minimum of one year.
In the U.S.A driving license's include the drivers photograph, so if you are from a country where this is not the case it is wise to also carry your passport to avoid any unnecessary complications or delays should you have to produce it.

You must hold, and carry with you, a current, valid driving license issued in the country in which you live, if your license is not in English an International Driving Permit may be of assistance.
All occupants of a vehicle must wear seatbelts at all times.
