 Point Reduction Information
The point reduction is used to reduce points accumulated in the driver record. The successful completion of the Point Reduction course the violation and the "points" are then removed from the driving record.

The licensee must mail or deliver the Certificate of Completion to the Drivers License & Traffic Safety Division.

 

If on the date the Drivers License & Traffic Safety Division received the Certificate of Completion, the licensee's driving record contains 12 or more points, or more than 5 points if licensee is under 18 years of age, the point reduction can only be applied after the period of suspension or cancellation has been served.

 

The driver insurance may only be concerned with offenses during the last several years when setting the premium.
