The Point Reduction
is course of instruction designed to reduce
the number of violations and crashes in
Wisconsin. Learners will examine their
driving behavior and will review traffic
laws and penalties to reduce the points.
Emphasis will be placed on ways to drive
responsibly.
The points total
may be reduced by three points for
attending an approved traffic safety
course.
Only one
reduction is allowed in a five year period
for points assessed to the A, B, C, D
classification.
One reduction of
three points is also allowed in a five year
period for points assessed for class M
(Motorcycle) violations.
No point
reduction is permitted if in one year a
person accumulates 12 or more points which
would require suspension.
Wisconsin's Point Reduction course is a
solution to improve your driving record. The
course will show learners how to develop a change
plan to reduce their risk to traffic violations
and crashes.
